At TinyMCE, we’re all about intuitive development experiences, and part of that is building with AI. We attended Major League Hacking’s Global Hack Week AI/ML in February 2025 and it was fun and educational. Our own Developer Relations Manager Mrina Sugosh led two workshops, each centered on using a unique agentic AI to build a messaging platform.
Both of these live coding sessions were packed with information about Angular, Windsurf AI, Laravel, DeepSeek, and Cursor AI. If you wish you were there, you don’t have to wish any longer! We’ve got the replays of both workshops in this blog, and we have some upcoming blog posts that will walk you through these sessions step by step. Read more about these sessions below and decide if you want to try live coding alongside one of them.
What’s TinyMCE?
TinyMCE is a rich text editor that powers a multitude of messaging platforms, SaaS platforms, enterprise web apps, educational communities, international ecommerce platforms, and more. It’s a customizable and flexible WYSIWYG editor that’s easy to install in a few minutes.
What’s MLH Global Hack Week?
MLH Global Hack Week is an international online programming event made for developers of all ages to get together, learn from each other, build new projects, and push the boundaries of technology. Global Hack Week (GHW) occurs multiple times during the year and always has a different theme. The AI/ML week is focused on artificial intelligence and machine learning sessions for developers. It’s a great way to learn more about how to actively use AI, because GHW focuses on live coding sessions and learning together as an active community.
Workshop 1: Building an Angular newsletter editor with Windsurf AI
Have you ever needed to build a newsletter editor inside an Angular project? In this workshop, Mrina walked developers through the process of using Windsurf AI to help set up a newsletter editor in Angular, with TinyMCE. If you missed the workshop, no problem. We’ve got the replay ready for you:
Workshop 2: Developing a Laravel email editor with a self-hosted DeepSeek LLM + Cursor AI
In the second workshop, Mrina led attendees through a live coding session where she developed a Laravel email editor using Cursor AI. As an added bonus, Mrina took the time to implement a self-hosted LLM with DeepSeek and Ollama! 🎉 If you missed out, no problem. We’ve got the recording right here:
What’s next? Keep creating with TinyMCE + AI!
Developing with TinyMCE and an agentic AI is a sure way to work smarter, not harder. TinyMCE’s easy BYOAI integration with powerful AI services like DeepSeek makes it an equally powerful rich text editor, with tools like quick translation and grammar checking built right in. Agentic IDEs like Cursor AI and Windsurf AI make engineering an app much more efficient and quicker, from the foundational setup of new projects to debugging to writing the documentation about the app. Together, developers can use TinyMCE and AI to create high-quality apps quickly.
If you watched one of our session replays and created a newsletter or an email editor, we want to see your project! Tag TinyMCE on LinkedIn, or follow @joinTiny on X to share your TinyMCE projects with us.
